An Invitation to Journey Within

July 20, 2022

What, would you say, are the biggest challenges facing you right now? What is stemming your life flow? Building up tension in your body and your mind?

The shifting sands of our personal lives, our families, our communities, our planet – it is challenging our roles, our identities and what truly matters to us.

There is an outright wrestle between the old and the new – comfort in the old but anxiety in the unknown new, stagnancy in the old and liberation in the new. Our old scars are surfacing, old patterns pulled out from under the rug. We’re being asked to reinvent, to start anew. Understandably we’re feeling stress, anxiety and overwhelm arising in our bodies and minds.

How do we navigate through these times? These times of uncertainty and change?

Pure + simple has always made most sense to me. When life gets complex, get back to basics.

Sleep

Sleep is often one of the first to suffer when stress starts to build and overwhelm sets in. Finding ways to soothe our stress levels and get the quality sleep we need significantly improves our mental health and our resilience to the higher stress in our daily lives. Try to make sure you’re getting enough sunlight during the day, avoid screens (blue light) at least an hour before bed, establish a rhythm for going to sleep and waking around the same times. Rising with the sun is a great way to connect with the Earth which improves our mental health.

Movement

Our bodies thrives on movement. Stress and unprocessed emotions have a tendency to become stuck in our bodies creating pain and stiffness. Slow and gentle movement in the morning, and even before we sleep, helps to keep these toxins moving and supports our lymphatic system to release the build up of ‘ama’ in our muscles and joints. Movement also helps us to process our experiences – e-motion is really just ‘energy in motion’ – walking, running, swimming, dancing, gentle stretching give our bodies an opportunity to move cleanse and reset. Movement in nature is doubly healing.

Nourishment

Stress and overwhelm frays our energy which can make us feel unbalanced and frazzled. Our energy has a frenetic upward movement that needs slowing and grounding. Supporting our bodies with nourishing foods is a potent way to bring that anxious energy down – root vegetables, oats, eggs, berries, salmon, nuts. Equally, minimising the usual offenders – caffeine and alcohol – can promote a more peaceful environment.

Another vital source of nourishment is a peaceful connection with the world around us – seek out friends or family you feel good being around. A good laugh or being safe to be share vulnerably do wonders for self care and remembering who we really are – underneath the stress and uncertainty.

Stillness

Stress, by default, is very clever at convincing us that EVERYTHING is urgent. We may find ourselves in a spin in our heads, moving fast on autopilot and thinking the only way to win is to move faster! The most powerful antidote to this state of affairs is to become still. Like an intensely swirling pool of water, allowing space to become still reveals a peace and clarity that the busyness was masking. Proactively taking time for stillness each day supports us with prioritising and making good decisions. Develop a daily practice of becoming still and checking in – listen for what matters and that which does not. And any time you notice you’ve started running in circles again, challenge yourself to stop mid-circle and breathe.

Learning how to respond to the needs of your body and mind during times of stress, transition and change is key to living an empowered and love infused life.

What I learned about life when my partner was diagnosed with cancer

March 9, 2022

Life is asking a lot of us right now, isn’t it.  So much change, so much questioning of our old ways, so much renewal.  In numerology, the number 2 is associated with peace – not the surface level peace that makes everything seem OK, but the deep authentic peace that comes from unearthing and cleansing anything that comes between us and our deepest truth and highest good.  And here we are in 2022….deep upheaval in pursuit of authentic peace.

I’ve been reflecting recently on times of deep unearthing and cleansing in my life and what I have learned most profoundly from such times. My partner’s diagnosis and treatment for cancer several years ago was, without a doubt, one of those times. I’ll share a little of my story here…

My partner’s diagnosis and treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (NHL) was enormously life changing for me.  It was potentially the highest level of stress I recall ever having experienced.  It was as though we were travelling along one path (with its own little challenges) and in an instant, we were knocked completely into a whole new journey.

For me, and indeed both of us in very different ways, I was forced to face life beyond death.  The acceptance of and surrender to a heartbreak I hadn’t been sure I could survive.

It taught me so much about the different ways people deal with trauma and grief.  It also taught me the vital importance of connection to Spirit – to something greater than me – not only in times of deep stress but also in daily life.

I experienced, with glaring clarity, that which seems to be present when pushed to the edge of our own capacity – the stillness, the peace, the silence that comes when there is nothing left to do but surrender.

It taught me about severe anxiety, PTSD and the impact of full body freeze – and the strategies that can help us return to peace in the face of despair.  It brought me humility, confronted me with my fears, and made me accept and acknowledge the inevitability of challenge in our lives.

It revealed to me my tendency to ‘be a good person’ and to ‘do the right thing’ as an attempt to stave off the truly difficult parts of life – to keep me safe.  What I learned is that difficult times will come and go and they always teach us something profound.  Up level us.  Break us open again so as not to get too stagnant and safe.

I’ve learned that holding a bigger picture, opening to new possibilities, allowing life to do its work always leads us to a better place, and that there is always something to be grateful for, even in the darkest of days.

I’ve learned that I have the capacity to do this.  I have felt my relentlessly positive spirit surge to rise again.  I know this in my bones now.  I will always find a way to rise up again…and so will you.

In peace

Reflections, New Offerings and Finding Your Why

December 21, 2021

Dear Ones

How are you in these transformational times? Really…how are you?

These past few years have been hard times and have brought wake up calls for many of us in what matters and how we want to live and feel. We need each other now more than ever, I think. I saw a quote recently that said “Alone is hard. Together is better”. That feels good to me. Let’s do that – let’s stick together and support each other in any way we can.

My 2021…

2021 has been both challenging and liberating for me personally. Less so in the external world as in previous years, but very much so in my inner world. I have struggled, and wrestled, and transformed and released. I have pushed myself to grow and extend – to take risks and to let go of old patterns.

Transformation Workshop Series

This year I launched my beautiful and well received Transformation Workshop Series which was a culmination of lessons I have learned over the years for how to live a love-infused life. The three workshops delved into three topics dear to my heart: Creating Sacred Space (daily), Creating Inner Peace (understanding and working with stress and anxiety), and Creating Values for Life (understanding and embracing what we value most). I was humbled and inspired by the love and authenticity that was present in each of the groups that came together for these workshops. I am excited to have created this workshop series and have definite plans for the second round in 2022!

New offerings

2022 is a year of expansion for me and my beloved work through Love Infused Living. I am keen to explore new ways to inspire you to heal and expand into your own truth and potency. My curiosity this year has led me to two powerful threads in my future work – (1) practical ways for finding our purpose; and (2) embodied processing and trauma-informed practices. These interests and training will weave their way into my offerings in 2022, creating new workshops and collaborations. Look out for updates and releases as they come to form over the next few months…

Finding your Why – Program Launch

February 2022 – Introductory Special
Individual session (150 – 180 mins) $185 (gst inc)
Optional Follow up (60 mins) $95 (gst inc)

I am delighted to launch a brand new program – ‘Finding Your Why’. Developed in collaboration with Wellbeing Practitioner and dear friend, Sally Jamieson (Sally Jamieson Wellbeing), this program will offer both group workshops and individual sessions. Our introductory sessions (February 2022) are offered ahead of an inspiring collaborative workshop we will run together in March 2022.

Based on the work of well known entrepreneur and optimist, Simon Sinek, this beautiful process provides a safe and softly structured way to explore what holds most meaning for us through the stories of our lives so far. Your ‘Why’ is your deepest focus and purpose. It is the golden nugget that brings meaning to every choice and action of your life – in business, in relationships, in lifestyle and in love.

My ‘Why’ is what brings me to deliver these programs to you. My ‘Why’ is …
to inspire others to know their own potency so that, together, we can build a world of wholeness and authenticity’

Revealing my ‘Why’ has led me to understand myself more fully, to embrace what has meaning for me and to thread together each aspect of my life with deeper passion and commitment.

Keen to explore your ‘Why’ or my other offerings? I’d love to chat with you more. Comment below or email me at hello@loveinfused.com.au to book a 15 minute clarity call.

Wishing you many blessings for peace and deep presence as this year comes to a close.
Let’s unite in 2022 for a year of clarity and love-infused living.

From my heart to yours,
